The Outcast

In 2002 Sandra Bullock starred in Murder by Numbers. In this movie two high school kids, Justin and Richard, team up to perform the perfect murder. Both these high school students are rich and feel that no one cares about them. Mayweather (Sandra Bullock) is the detective that finds the girl the two boys’ murder. She deals with memories from the past as she is working on this case. Mayweather knows that these two boys killed the girl, but her partner thinks it is the school janitor. Through a series of events Mayweather manages to get her partner to believe her. Mayweather follows the boys to their hide out without her partner. When she arrives Justin is yelling at Richard that they need to give themselves up, but Richard will not listen. Mayweather busts in on them when they are about to kill each other. Richard takes off with the gun and tries to shoot Mayweather, but Justin jumps in front of her. Mayweather take Justin to safety, then takes off after Richard. Mayweather chases Richard onto the deck. The deck collapses and Richard falls off into the water and dies. Back up finally arrives and take Justin into custody, knowing that he was the one that pulled the trigger.
This was another amazing movie of Sandra Bullock’s. Her character was once again a tough cop, with a troubled background. She has to work through the pain and memories from her past, in order to solve the murder. This was an excellent movie of hers, but not one of my favorites.

  8. I think it's interesting that the kid who did kill her wanted to give up, while the one who didn't want to kill her didn't, and then ended up dying. I remember when this movie came out, but didn't know what it was about.

Why is it titled how it is?
